Hosting & servers

Hosting on servers I build, harden, and run myself.

Most agencies rent space from a reseller and hope for the best. When something breaks, they file a ticket and wait in line like everyone else. Not here. Every server I run, I built and I manage. Nothing is outsourced, which means when your site needs attention, the person who answers is the person who can actually fix it, usually within the hour, not within a support queue.

Nothing outsourced, and that is the whole point

I have spent years learning how servers work and how sites get broken into, because the only real way to protect something is to understand exactly how it gets attacked. My hardware runs LiteSpeed and Apache tuned by hand for the sites that live on them. There is no mystery hosting company behind the curtain, no third-party data center support line, and no finger-pointing when something needs to change. One person is responsible for your server, and you have my email.

Hardened before your site ever touches it

Every server is locked down before a single site goes on it. A web application firewall filters bad requests before they reach your pages. Brute force protection watches login attempts and bans attackers automatically, usually within seconds. Every file is scanned daily for malware and monitored for changes. Security patches go on the day they are released, not whenever someone gets around to it, because most hacks exploit software that stayed old.

Backups that live somewhere else

Everything on the server is copied off the server, automatically and regularly. If the worst ever happens, a hack, a bad update, a hardware failure, the answer is a restore, not a rebuild. You will never have to explain to your customers why the site has been down for a week, because the recovery plan existed before the problem did.

Built for speed, measured in milliseconds

The same obsession that makes my builds load in under a second applies to the machines they run on. LiteSpeed caching, tuned PHP, and servers that are not overcrowded with a thousand strangers all fighting for the same resources. Fast hosting is a ranking factor, a conversion factor, and frankly a respect-for-your-visitors factor. If you want to see it working, run my free speed test on this very site.

Already hosted somewhere else? I will move you

Migrations are included, and they are careful ones: I copy everything, test the site fully on my hardware, and only switch your domain over when it is verified working. Your visitors never see a gap. I also rescue sites from hosts that have let them get slow, hacked, or held hostage, and untangle the domain and email mess that usually comes with that.

Questions, answered.

Do I have to host with you if you build my site? +

No. You own everything I build and it will run anywhere. Most clients choose my hosting because it keeps one person responsible for the whole stack, the site and the server it lives on, but it is a choice, never a lock-in.

What makes this different from GoDaddy or a big host? +

Scale, in your favor. Big hosts put thousands of strangers on the same machine and route your problems through a support queue that has never seen your site. Here, the person who built your server also built your website, knows both inside out, and answers you directly. Fewer sites per machine also means your site is not fighting for resources.

What does managed hosting include? +

The server itself, the hardening (firewall, brute force protection, daily malware scans), software updates, off-server backups, uptime monitoring, and a real person watching all of it. It is a simple flat monthly rate quoted up front, and it pairs naturally with a Care plan if you want content and SEO looked after too.

Can you move my existing website to your servers? +

Yes, and carefully. I copy the site, test it fully on my hardware, and only point your domain at the new server once everything is verified working, so there is no downtime. Email, DNS, and SSL certificates come along as part of the move.
